GRNW - Rules and Regulations
All rules and regulations must be followed to provide a safe, organized and effective neighborhood watch patrol.
1) Participants must be 21 and older.
2) No weapons of any kind are authorized for use by the GRNW.
3) No alcoholic beverages or drugs are to be consumed before or
during your patrol period.
4) Participants will operate in groups of two or more at all times.
5) No participants are to leave their vehicle or detain anyone unless
ordered to do so by the CPD.
6) Participants will not represent themselves as Police Officers to
anyone, under any circumstance. They will not wear or carry any
emblem, insignia, logo or sign with “Chicago Police” or “Police”
written on them.
7) All traffic laws must be obeyed.
8) High speed chases are not permitted.
9) No confrontation with the police. If you do not agree with the way a
police officer is handling an incident, request that a supervisor take
his or her name, star number or beat number and log it on you patrol
activity report.
10) Members needing to change their assigned patrol date must find
their own replacement and communicate the change with their
assigned partner as well as the Team Leader before the assigned
date.
11) The organization is not liable for any traffic tickets, vehicular
damage or personal injury incurred while a participant is on patrol.
12) All applicants are subject to a background check by the Chicago
Police Department.
I, the undersigned citizen patrol participant, have read the rules and Regulations, as well as the bylaws and agree to adhere to them.
